The Proposal
Tara McGuire and Ian Diehl met at a college Bible study and then hit it off at the annual Ugly Sweater Party. On a romantic picnic at Monocacy Creek, Ian sprung his proposal plan, which was almost foiled by his dog, Ellie, noticing family hiding behind a nearby tree.
The Big Day
Their big day was sheer perfection, held in the peak of fall in the Poconos where fiery foliage illuminated the landscape. Drawing on nature’s theme, their wedding colors matched the trees in burgundy, orange and chocolate. Ian and Tara’s love of dogs and Notre Dame football showed in personal touches added to the event, and Tara herself choreographed a waltz to the song “From the Ground Up” by Dan + Shay, performed gracefully by the newlyweds. Following the reception, an after-party at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn gave them a chance to wind down and relax with out-of-town guests.
