The Proposal
Though they shared mutual friends for years in high school, Rachael Okune and Nana Micah met only at the last possible moment when Rachael stayed after her own game to watch his final soccer match of the year. With an elaborate “Christmas party” ruse, Nana surprised Rachael with loved ones and a photographer poised to witness his proposal.
The Big Day
In the lovely light of stained glass, they shared personal as well as traditional vows supported by a wedding party 18 strong before taking the party to Bethlehem’s Wilbur Mansion for an event woven through with their West African heritage. Their families came ready to slay in coordinated traditional Nigerian and Ghanaian attires, and a buffet of seven-plus entrée options and endless sides ensured everyone could sample the delights of their cuisines. With outfit changes, an elevated photo booth and an exemplary MC, it was an energized night of fun and nonstop dancing to West African music.
