Top Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week
1. Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival
Cancel your plans this weekend and head to the Slatington Airport for their annual hot air balloon festival with a fun and festive Halloween twist. Kicking off tonight with an all-new laser light show, you can enjoy a carnival midway with fair food, craft vendor fair and music or enjoy a walk down their hot air balloon trail. Continuing the fun throughout the weekend, the festival also features tethered hot air balloon rides, a car show, balloon glows, Saturday night fireworks and so much more. If you’re looking for something totally unique to do this weekend, this is it!
2. Spooky Igloos
County Seat Spirits is known for their unique cocktails at the Silk Mill in Easton, but did you know you could enjoy said cocktails in a seasonal igloo? The distillery is bringing back their winter igloos but with some spooky additions like spider webs, string lights and cool lighting. Pair it with one of their unique craft cocktails (and we mean unique… and delicious) and you’ve got yourself a festive night out.
3. Sea Wear We Land
We’re all about sustainability and doing our part to protect the environment in which we live, so we were thrilled to stumble upon Sea Wear We Land, a new local clothing brand who redesigns thrifted items to create upcycled goods to avoid textiles ending up in landfills (how awesome, right?!). You’ll find cute and quirky men’s and women’s T-shirts, hoodies and infant onesies as well as the option to DIY pieces with their custom designs. If you’re interested in learning more about their initiative, head to their pop-up shop at Jay’s Local this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to meet the team and purchase some feel-good merchandise.
4. B’s Bagels
There are some new eats on the scene and these delicious bites are housed in a vegan pop-up shop operating under Melanie Lino’s Made by Lino umbrella (you may know her coffee shop, Lit Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop in SouthSide Bethlehem). B’s Bagels are small-batch, sourdough bagels with unique spreads and toppings (think ramp cream cheez or whipped mustard butter) made with local ingredients. Pre-orders are accepted on Saturdays with pick-ups available the following Friday at Lit. If you’ve ever had any of Melanie Lino’s treats, you know these are bound to be delicious.
5. Fall Wine Slushies
While we’re highlighting the fall wine slushies at Sorrenti Family Estate, we would be doing you a disservice if we didn’t tell you about the on-site pizzeria you’ll find upon a visit to their vineyards. In addition to their seasonal wine slushies, featuring flavors like apple cider, you can enjoy more than 20 different kinds of brick-oven pizza, various pastas, calzones, salads, apps and dessert. As if wine and pizza wasn’t enough of a reason to visit their location in Saylorsburg, they also distill their own spirits and offer an array of indoor and outdoor dining options to enjoy the season. Go ahead, take the day and spend it trying wine al fresco!
