Top Food, Drinks and Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week

1.  Vintage Ice Cream Truck

Continuing on from last week’s mobile food experiences, this week we have the feel-good Mike’s Good Humor Ice Cream Truck, a rentable vintage ice cream truck (complete with owner Mike as the Mike’s Good Humor Man) for any large or small event. They offer a small event/drive-by package or a standard event package including a selection of Good Humor treats and the opportunity for custom sign and menu creations from local calligraphers and partners. Creating the ultimate beautiful wedding aesthetic is no foreign task for owners Mike and Nicole, who are also the duo behind Lovely Luxe Rentals, Lovely Ring Boxes and Styled Lovely.

2. JL Mott Mansion Rental

You know those beautiful historic mansions you stroll by and gawk at on Market Street in Bethlehem? Well, we learned that quite a few of them are available for short or long-term rental. While this is a touchy topic amongst neighbors and city officials, Dr. and Sir. Rentals have managed to score Super Host on Airbnb for these stunning homes available for out-of-town guests. The JL Mott Mansion (built in the 1890s) is a particular stunner with availability to rent per room (there’s four available—including the pictured Princess Suite) or the whole house itself offering seven bedrooms, nine beds and four-and-a-half baths. Guests receive retro bicycles for touring historic Bethlehem, complimentary beer, wine and bottled water and the opportunity to be chauffeured in a 1939 Packard limousine or a Mercedes S550. This is only one historic mansion rental offered by Dr. and Sir Rentals, so do yourself a favor and suggest one of these mansions the next (post-pandemic) time your family comes into town and you’ll get the rare opportunity to peek inside.

3. Gourmet Pastries

We’re constantly drooling and intrigued by the sheer works of art that Fox Bakery posts daily in the form of macarons, chocolate bars, meringue rolls, mini cakes and so many more specialty dessert options. Olga, a trained pastry chef who hails from Russia seems to consistently outdo herself with rotating daily flavors and dessert combinations. Her desserts are only available for local delivery and to be paid for with cash, so it feels like you’re getting these super-secret dessert specialties on-demand, and well, we guess you are.

4. HydroJelly Mask

Not quite sure how we got here, but stumbling on Amazing Skin Laser & Aesthetic’s HydroJelly Mask offering really made us want to book a spa day ASAP. As a $20 add-on to any of their skin treatments, they have a variety of masks for different purposes, including anti-aging, collagen boosting, anti-acne, brightening and calming redness and soothing. So, if you’re looking for a skin-refresher, this may be it.

5. Cheesecake in a Cone

We love a good food combo and when you take cheesecake off a plate and serve it in an unexpected crunch cone, we’re here for it. Easton’s newest sandwich shop, Ciao, offers these cheesecakes in a cone as one of their dessert items and they come with a side of strawberry glaze. You can order two for $8, but we’ll just multiply that by six and take a platter to go.
