Top Food, Drinks and Things to Do in the Lehigh Valley This Week

1.  Wine Wagon

Forget trying to figure out how many bottles of wine you need to grab from the nearest grocery or liquor store for your next small gathering, micro-wedding or backyard picnic—Easton Wine Project has you covered with their new wine wagon. They’ll roll up to your location fully-stocked with wine by the glass or bottle, hot drinks, sangria and, everyone’s favorite, slushies. Offering a completely customizable menu, they’re available for private bookings and expect to see them popping up at local festivals (crossing all of the fingers for 2021 festivals) with wine for sale.

2. Cookie Decorating + Valentine’s Photos

Putting the finishing touches on a brand-new bakeshop on Broad Street Bethlehem is Cake as Canvas. You may have seen Huma’s beautiful cake creations floating around your Instagram feed and now she’s officially opening a bakeshop. You’ll be able to order her custom creations for pick-up or even attend cake decorating classes. Her first class in partnership with Mazi Studios is coming up on Sunday, January 31 where you’ll be able to decorate cookies for Valentine’s Day and have it all captured with photography by Mazi Studios. Send Huma a DM on Instagram for more info!

3. Parmesan-Encrusted Grilled Cheese

You don’t necessarily think of the town of Bath as the epicenter of foodie culture in the Lehigh Valley but let us tell you, there are some hidden gems in the tiny town—one of them being Bean Bath Café. Set in a tiny strip mall on 512, you’ll find this under-the-radar gem serving delicious breakfast and lunch bites in a comfortable and inviting setting (plus they have vegan breakfast and lunch menus). One of these delicious menu items happens to be a Parmesan-encrusted grilled cheese. We could truly think of nothing better to enjoy on a cold winter day than warm gooey grilled cheese—topped with even more cheese. They suggest pairing it with tomato soup, and we’re not arguing.

4. Breakable Chocolate Hearts

Shattering chocolate hearts isn’t just an anti-Valentine’s activity, you can break open chocolate delicacies for any occasion—including birthdays or just for fun. The Ice Cream Lounge of Easton offers these chocolate shell hearts that you can break open with a wooden mallet. A fun experiential treat that’s perfect for the ’gram and getting out some of that newfound 2021 aggression, am I right?

5. Vacation Rental

We’re all craving a not-too-far-from-home getaway at this point of the pandemic and Sylvan Ridge Farm may just have the solution. They’re brand new to the scene and are newly opened for vacation rentals. Set on over 200 acres, you’ll have no problem social distancing at this Delaware River Valley retreat. The farmhouse can hold groups of up to 11, with the cottage offering space for four additional guests. Their grounds include a hot tub open all year round and an in-ground pool from May through September, plus a fire ring and access to three local marked trails for hiking, biking or just enjoying nature. In addition to offering vacation rentals, this farm boasts a beautiful event barn for gatherings of all sizes.
