Top Food, Experiences and Shopping in the Lehigh Valley This Week

1.  Flower Workshops

Now this isn’t something you can do right now, but with tickets just released and an expected sell-out experience, we’re telling you about these Farm Walkabout Flower Workshops early on. Dubbed as a “flower-filled” happy hour, the first Farm Walkabout Flower Workshop is Saturday, April 24 at Pasture Song Farm in Pottstown and it features Ranunculus. The workshop experience includes a tour of the flower fields, a learning session on how to grow Ranunculus and an opportunity to arrange a centerpiece. You’ll get to enjoy snacks and go home with a keepsake vase and tons of flowers. For those looking to add a little something extra to the experience, you can book an add-on 10–15-minute photo session with Zoe Schaeffer of Dirt Joy (read more about her in last week’s finds). If you take a look through Zoe’s gallery of photos, you’ll want to scoop this up ASAP.

2. Blithe Cold Brew

If you love a good cold brew, why not buy small and support local. This newly established craft cold brew was born less than a year ago in March 2020 (shout out to starting a business in a pandemic!) by Valley local Mariah Biery. This organic small-batch cold brew coffee can be delivered locally or picked up at The Yellow Barn Store in Center Valley (more on them below). With a focus on sustainability, you can return your glass bottle to the Yellow Barn Store and receive $2 off your next order. The new add-on “Orange You Fancy” as of a few days ago, is a blend of pure orange extract, Vigo Amaro and Angostura bitters to amp up your drinking experience. You can find ways to pair your cold brew with spirits for a nice cold brew cocktail on their IG page—thanks for that, Blithe.

3. The Yellow Barn Store

As mentioned above as the pick-up and drop-off location for Blithe Cold Brew and glass bottles, The Yellow Barn Store in Center Valley may be the definition of hidden gem as a small sign on Route 309 is the only indicator of their converted barn store location. This is on our own finds list to check out, but is said to have an array of country and seasonal decorations ranging from candles to dishes to small wooden furniture and even garden items. Yelp’ers say the staff is the friendliest and they’re thrilled to have stumbled on this quaint store, so check it out and let us know if you agree!

4. Share the Love with EPM

Once again squeaking this one in here as this promotion ends tomorrow, but it’s just too fun not to let you know about in case you’d like to participate. Easton Public Market has always made an effort to promote social distancing with floor markers, but they’re making it extra fun for Valentine’s Day by customizing these floor stickers into conversation heart stickers that visitors of the market are encouraged to take pictures of and share on social media with the hashtag #LoveEaston and #FeastinEaston for the chance to win The Ultimate Valentine’s Day Dinner Package (valued at $250). Each vendor will have custom floor sticker sayings such as “Nice buns” in front of Modern Crumb bakery (lol). And for those who don’t get the opportunity to win the grand prize package, there’s great prizes for second and third place as well. Check out more details here if you want to get involved.

5. Texas Roll

It’s another week of discovering ridiculous menu items at pizzerias. This Texas Roll was a Super Bowl special last weekend at Villa Grande Pizzeria in Bath, but has been said to be too good that it’s staying on the menu. Pretty much a Stromboli of sorts, this Texas Roll has mozzarella cheese, chicken, bacon, BBQ sauce, Cool Ranch Doritos and Ranch dressing. It’s truly made for those days you just want to indulge. This is only one of many over the top rolls, pizzas and pastas—head over to their online menu to check out what else you can indulge in this weekend.
