“Treat the patient, not the symptoms.” Since founding VITA Medical Associates in 1993, this is the maxim Dr. Anna Niewiarowska and her husband, Dr. Tomasz Niewiarowski, have built their privately-run practice upon. Their devotion to providing precision cancer care has not gone unnoticed: In 2010, Dr. Niewiarowska took her practice’s standard of care to the next level by achieving the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification, the first practice in Pennsylvania (and the 23rd nationwide) to do so.
Specializing in the treatment of advanced cancers, Dr. Niewiarowska welcomes the unique challenges each patient faces. She is fiercely dedicated to her patients’ success. Bolstering her background in pharmaceutical research with a passion for nutrition, Dr. Niewiarowska embraces her role as the “go-to” oncologist for second opinions, with expertise in pancreatic, breast, lung and hematologic cancers. She remains deeply engaged in conducting clinical trials to develop new treatments for pancreatic cancer, and is routinely recognized for providing the highest quality patient care.
The VITA team of physicians would be incomplete without Dr. Tomasz Niewiarowski and longtime mentor and colleague, Dr. James Boylan, both experts in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. Dr. Niewiarowski developed the Lehigh Valley’s first endoscopic ultrasound program in 2004, introducing the region’s patients to noninvasive technology for the diagnosis and staging of gastrointestinal cancers.
