Angelo and Shailene were introduced by mutual friends at a local bar, locking eyes that night seven years ago and never looking back. Two weeks after meeting, Angelo took her to Las Vegas for her birthday. Friends and family thought she was nuts going with a stranger, but they had a bond no one understood.
Angelo proposed on Thanksgiving Day right before dinner. It was their first year hosting Thanksgiving at their new home, and Angelo decided to make a toast and thank everyone for coming. Suddenly, he was kneeling in front of Shailene with the most beautiful ring in the presence of all of their equally surprised family and friends.
Every year, Angelo and Shailene go to Bear Creek Mountain Resort for Valentine’s Day, so it was only right to celebrate their special day there. Every hour, from the moment Shailene awoke to their wedding at 5 p.m., Angelo sent a wedding gift up to her room. From the beautiful ceremony outside to the perfect indoor reception, their day was filled with so much joy. The best part about the day was being able to channel Shailene’s grandmother from her hospital room, whose battle with pancreatic cancer prevented her from attending. It was a beautiful weekend filled with laughter and tears.
